دقس: دقس: دَقَسَ في الأَرض دَقْساً ودُقُوساً: ذهب فتَغَيَّب. والدُّقْسَةُ: دُوَيْبَّة صغيرة. ودَقْيُوسُ: اسم مَلِكٍ، أَعجمية. الليث: الدقس ليس بعربي، ولكن الملك الذي بنى المسجد على أَصحاب الكهف اسمه دَقْيُوسُ. قال الأَزهري: ورأَيت في نوادر الأَعراب: ما أَدري أَين دَقَسَ ولا أَين دُقِسَ به ولا أَين طَهَسَ وطُهِسَ به أَي أَين ذهب وذُهب به.
